The passing of Gordon Cosby, by Jim Wallis

The Sojourners community and magazine has been an important presence for decades. Read what Sojourners leader and noted Christian activist Jim Wallis writes about Gordon Cosby's death and life, and you will get more than a slight glimpse of Jim as well. I thank God for Jim's witness. He and I have been friends at a distance ever since the 1960s.

David Brooks' latest can't be missed

David Brooks, who is a Jew, knows more about Christianity than 99.9 % of Christians. I really don't know how he does it. His most recent column is simply breathtaking in its assurance, its frontline thinking, its grasp of the way that theology forms attitudes and strategies. He has read Peter Brown's biography of Augustine. He offers the Christian church a way forward that coincides almost exactly with the one that "generous orthodoxy" recommends. Here is the link:

It seems to me that his description of the Donatists wasting their time in gossiping about their own intramural disputes and rivalries is precisely what is going on in the Episcopal Church and its breakaways right now.
